Evolution of a painting...

It's been a busy week but I managed to start a new painting!  I had a basic idea in mind and went about trying to paint it out.  A little way into the work it just wasn't what I had envisioned.  It pained me to cover over her beautiful face, so I took a photo to remember her and started again.  Little by little it is starting to look the way I imagined it.  I'll post pictures when she's finished.

Here are some pictures of the journey so far...

Hope you enjoyed seeing the process!  It's always so hard to go back to work on Monday when I'm feeling a creative frenzy coming on.

Wishing you a happy week!

♥Jenny

  10. What an interesting process Jenny. I could see stopping at any one along the way and saying this is it. But no, you go on and on and it grows and changes but always the end result is something quite striking and wonderful. I love seeing the process.

  13. It's so interesting to see how your paintings come to life, looking at the early stages, I could never guess what the final piece is going to look like. It's really fascinating.

  19. Wow talk about the journey being more important than the destination. Loved seeing the evolution of this piece. And in the end I think she looks very graceful and delicate. I like the subtle colorations on her face too.

  26. It's so frustrating, when something doesn't work out, but well worth painting over, even if we like something. So interesting to see the process, and I'm looking forward to see the finished painting!
